Diffuser Install
IMPORTANT
NEVER WORK UNDER A CAR THAT IS ONLY SUPPORTED BY A FLOOR JACK.
1.Put the car on flat ground, in park, or first gear with the ebrake engaged. Jack up the rear of the car with a floor jack or bottle jack using the rear jack points. Place jack stands or cribbing under the control arm. Use wheel chalks to prevent the front wheels from rolling forward.
2. Open the diffuser box, remove the packaging. Assemble the center section of the diffuser. With the machined pockets of the baseplate slots facing up, slide a fin on, with the hole on top.
3. Install a black M4 bolt into each fin using a Phillips head screwdriver, tightening until the fin is flush with the surface of the baseplate. They just need to be snug, do not over tighten. Fasteners this small can be easily stripped.
4. Locate the M6 bolts, and serrated nuts in the hardware bag. Grab your clamps, a 4mm Allen key, and a drill with the 6mm or ¼” drill bit.
5. Hold the baseplate up to the bottom of the OEM valance. Place a clamp on the countersunk hole that is in front of the outside fins. This positions the clamps a flat area of the valance.
Push the diffuser into the car so the fins touch the valance on the bottom. The fins will not perfectly follow the contour of the valance at this step.
The front edge of the baseplate should be tight against the lip on the edge of the OEM valance. Use the front corners of the baseplate to center the diffuser left to right.
6. Wear safety glasses and drill the two center M6 holes with a 6mm or ¼” bit. Install two M6 bolts, and nuts. Hold a wrench on top, and turn the bolt with the allen key.
Then drill the two outer most holes, and install a bolt in each one.
7. Remove the clamps, and drill the 2 holes that were covered, then install the m6 bolts and nuts.
8. The fins can now be removed to expose the last few mounting points. Drill just the inside two holes, and install m6 bolts and nuts.
DO NOT DRILL THE OUTSIDE HOLES.
9. Using a philips head screw driver, install the two self tapping screws in the remaining two countersunk holes (these will be hidden by the outer fins. DO THIS BY HAND SO YOU DO NOT STRIP THE HOLES.
Re-install the fins and four black M4 bolts to complete the center section of the diffuser.
Spat Install
1. The spats are left / right side specific. The countersunk holes will be on the bottom.
Remove the 3M tape cover on the vertical spat, and use the black T25 bolt included in the kit to line it up to the bottom spat. The flange of the vertical spat should be flush with the front edge of the bottom spat.
2. Remove the T25 screws.
3. Hold up the spat, and use the included longer T25 in the hardware bag to attach the spat assembly in the hole where you just removed the T25 factory screw.
4. Clamp the inside edge of the spat, near the exhaust tips. Adjust alignment of the spat so it follows the valance edge along the exhaust tip
5. Drill a 6mm hole into the valance using the countersunk hole as a reference. Then install a countersunk bolt and nut.
6. Drill the front hole, through the vertical spat, bottom spat, and into the valance. Then install the flanged pan head bolt and nut.
7. Align the vertical spat with the edge of the wheel well. Then drill a 6mm hole into the edge of the bumper.
8. Slide a black washer onto the black bolt, through the vertical spat, then through the black plastic spacer, then into the bumper, and thread on a nut inside the bumper.
9. Last, use the silver pan head self tapping screw and washer in the rearmost hole of the bottom spat. You can start this screw with a drill, but hand tighten it to ensure you don't strip the plastic out. Finished!
